MetaCert is Now Installed!

A note from Paul Walsh, MetaCert Founder & CEO

Thank you for entrusting us with your online safety and personal information. Before you continue, I’d like to share a brief overview of what you can expect from your free trial, and I’d like to explain how we respect your right to online privacy and data protection.

Scroll down to read the rest of my note or click continue to get protected. Either way, we will send you this overview by email after you activate your account.

Why it’s not free

Many leading security companies offer free browser extensions because they either sell their end-user information and search history to sustain their service, or the extension isn’t important enough to them. We don’t believe in this model at MetaCert.

Our browser extension is open sourced because we believe it’s important for security companies to be open and transparent when it comes to personal information and search history. This means anyone can look at our code on GitHub to see exactly how the software and service works - you don’t have to take our word for it.

Credit card NOT needed for this trial

You don’t have to add a credit card to start your 14-day trial, so there’s no chance of us automatically billing you. You’re NOT obliged to sign up for membership at the end of your trial either. And if you pay for the service but end up dissatisfied within the first 3 months, we’ll give you a full refund.

Before your free trial comes to an end in 14 days, we will reach out to you by email to ask if you’d like to continue using the service. You are in full control.

Automatic updates

The extension uses the MetaCert Security API to authenticate the trust and reputation of every URL that you open on your computer. You won’t need to setup or configure anything because this all happens seamlessly in the background, automatically.

You will also automatically receive updates to this browser extension any time we make improvements or add new features. We have some new crypto-related security updates on the way too!

YOUR data

We inevitably acquire Service Data about your usage of MetaCert, your account, and your payments through operating our service. We retain only enough Service Data to operate and maintain the service. Your data is never used for any other purpose.

Keeping Your Information Safe

We understand and accept our responsibility to protect your Data. We use strict access control mechanisms, network isolation, and encryption to ensure that Secure and Service Data is only available to authorized personnel. Additionally, Secure Data cannot be decrypted even by those who do have access to it.

I was one of the first people hackers impersonated on the Internet when I worked at AOL during the 90’s, so it’s a pleasure to bring you the first anti-phishing security solution that’s designed to help people immediately spot a new threat before they have time to blink, let alone before harm can be done.

You can learn more about the concept of “Zero Trust” cybersecurity, as well as our unique approach to Phishing Security called “Zero Trust URL & Web Access Authentication” in a Wired article here.

Thanks again
Paul
